The Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago is the oldest zoo in America and has free admission throughout the year. With successful breeding programs for many endangered of the world's endangered wild animals, Lincoln Park Zoo is one of the most popular attractions for children in Chicago. The park has many interesting features and attractions, including more than 1,200 animals, such as lions, tigers, one of the world's best collections of gorillas and monkeys, zebras, elephants, antelopes and many exotic birds. The park also has gardens, an enormous greenhouse complete with rain forest, seating areas, shops, cafés, paddle boat rides on the South Lagoon and the Lincoln Park Zoo Express, a small train which travels around the zoo. There is also a children's zoo area, where children are able to touch and stroke many friendly farmyard animals.
